Magic Sketches: Dakkon, Shadow Slayer

The original sketch for Dakkon, Shadow Slayer by Richard Kane Ferguson sold in June 2021 via auction on the MTG Art Market fr $19,000. It is, according to Hipsters of the Coast, the highest price realized for a sketch of an original piece of Magic art, though it does appear as a printed “final” artwork on a card of its own on as part of the Sketch Showcase series.

The sketch has a dual purpose. It's the foundation for the Modern Horizons 2 Dakkon, Shadow Slayer card. It's also appears on a card of its own on as part of the Sketch Showcase series.
